I decided to become a therapist many years ago following a struggle to overcome some of my own issues. I experienced a few different therapies before eventually finding my way through. I was very lucky to get the right kind of help at the right time for me and I am still here today, still standing.
I had the benefit of many counsellors and therapists along the way, some very good, and perhaps some that were not ok for me. I took myself off to university and specialised in dependency issues. I trained in Psychodynamic and Systemic models, Couple-counselling and Family Therapy, and worked as a counsellor and trainer for a few years before eventually developing the Integrated Hypnotherapeutic approach as a baseline for my work nowadays.
I believe that as we are all individuals, with unique and varied needs, there is no “one size fits all” to the kinds of help and support we often need. I aim to provide a person-centred approach in working with all my clients, enabling them to find and use their own resources to help them make the changes they wish for in their lives.
