Anthony Walker | Hypnotherapy

ABOUT ANTHONY WALKER

My name is Anthony Walker and I am a practising Clinical Hypnotherapist working in Birmingham and London. For the moment all sessions are taking place online only.  I have found that over the last three years, hypnotherapy and counselling are just as effective , sometimes more so, using the Zoom platform. I had my doubts at first but I was very soon won over when I realised that clients and colleagues have discovered, just as I have, that online  therapy is very appropriate, efficient, and  productive.  Most clients now prefer it to face-to-face. Check out the current research on the subject.

I have over 30 years’ experience within addictions, dependencies and related fields, working with a wide variety of clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I also see many clients   seeking help for anxiety and stress, PTSD, phobias, confidence issues, weight reduction, and smoking cessation.  I work with individuals and couples from all backgrounds who are seeking help with relationship issues and problems.

My Story

I decided to become a therapist many years ago following a struggle to overcome some of my own issues. I experienced a few different therapies before eventually finding my way through. I was very lucky to get the right kind of help at the right time for me and I am still here today, still standing.

I had the benefit of many counsellors and therapists along the way, some very good, and perhaps some that were not ok for me. I took myself off to university and specialised in dependency issues. I trained in Psychodynamic and Systemic models, Couple-counselling and Family Therapy, and worked as a counsellor and trainer for a few years before eventually developing the Integrated Hypnotherapeutic approach as a baseline for my work nowadays.

I believe that as we are all individuals, with unique and varied needs, there is no “one size fits all” to the kinds of help and support we often need. I aim to provide a person-centred approach in working with all my clients, enabling them to find and use their own resources to help them make the changes they wish for in their lives.
